Top Christian Songs for Independence Day

Top Christian Songs for Independence Day

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:1

‘Freedom’  is a value to so many people. In fact, freedom is a universal theme embedded in every human soul – the desire to be free from oppression and tyranny. Simply, we love and we want to be free.

While so many of us regard freedom as a cultural value, Scripture tells us that it’s a also gospel theme although at a different point of view. Freedom, according to the Bible, is liberation from the slavery of sin and death towards wholehearted obedience to God which in secular perspective, is not freedom at all but another kind of bondage. And I think that’s where Christianity drew the line on Freedom – it’s not the ability to do what you want but it’s the ability to do what is right.

So, as we celebrate our country’s freedom from oppression and tyranny, I have prepared some contemporary christian songs for Independence Day. They all remind us that freedom from sin is the highest form of freedom and every other kind of freedom falls under it. Enjoy listening!
