Christians Songs for Labor Day

Christians Songs for Labor Day

“And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when He rested from all His work of creation.”
~Genesis 2:3

Since the beginning of time, working and toiling have always been part of the human existence. Although working has significantly shifted from the toiling labor in the farm to the more relaxing environment in the office, we need to work to make ends meet. More so, we need to work to achieve our dreams and goals in life. Without hardwork and diligence, our dreams will remains dreams.

In the Book of Genesis, we read that even the Creator had rested from all His labor in the seventh day. He gave us one day in a week to rest from all our labors.

As tribute to all the people who are working either for their family, for the Lord or are just wanting to find rest, musicplusfaith.com compiles a list of songs that you might find helpful.

You Do All Things Well by Chris Tomlin

You do all things well by Chris Tomlin

One of Chris Tomlin’s lesser known yet beautiful songs, “You Do All Things Well” tells about God and His creation as recounted in Genesis 1 and 2. It is refreshing and inspiring to sing and listen to.

Take a Moment by Will Reagan

Take A Moment – Will Reagan (Lyric Video)

Will Reagan exhorts us in this song to “Take a Moment” to remember who God is amidst the busyness of life. In this song, he talks about Jesus taking up the yoke of this work and giving us an easy and a lighter yoke.

The Cause Of Christ by Kari Jobe

Give Me A Song (lyrics) – Will Reagan & United Pursuit

“The Cause of Christ” is a fitting song for all Christians who are committed to doing God’s will and God’s work here on earth. It is just the right tribute to all the workers who are toiling on the fields to prepare for the harvest to come.

Send Me Out by Steve Fee

This song echoes the words of Isaiah, “Here am I. Send me!” Just as in the previous song, this song is dedicate to all the hardworking people laboring in the Lord’s harvest.

Oh Great God, Give Us Rest by David Crowder

God gives rest to us as we pray “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him.” (Psalm 62:5).
